The Supreme Court’s decision not to hear a case on DADT gave Rachel Maddow another opportunity last night to take President Obama to task on his promise to repeal the controversial policy. Rep. Rush Holt of New Jersey lends a hand, one of the original cosponsors of bill (H.R. 1283) which would overturn Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell. Watch:

As momentum continues to build for the Obama administration to make good on a promise to end Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell, Rachel Maddow interviews yet another casualty of the policy. After 18 years of loyal and heroic service, Lt. Col. Victor Fehrenbach has been notified that his services are nolonger required, two years short of his retirement, and just two weeks shy of being re-deployed. Watch.
Other DADT news making headlines today include a statement by the Pentagon that there is currently no plan to end the discriminatory policy, and that the administration will have to defend DADT in court.

Today Rachel Maddow revealed that previous guest Army National Guardsman Lt. Dan Choi, who came out publicly on her show, is the latest of victim of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell, having received a letter from the Army informing him that he is being kicked out of the military.
This is to inform you that sufficient basis exists to initiate action for withdrawal of Federal Recognition in the Army National Guard for moral or professional dereliction. Specifically you admitted publicly that you are a homosexual, which constitutes homosexual conduct. Your actions negatively affected the good order and disciplin of the New York Army National Guard.

Judy Shepard responds to the passing of hate crimes legislation in the House and to the remarks made by Congresswoman Virginia Foxx, who said the murder of Matthew Shepard because he was gay, a hoax.
