We here at Inside, Looking Out would like to wish everyone a safe and happy Thanksgiving! While it has been a difficult year for many, myself included, the new year is finally around the bend, hopefully bringing better and brighter times for us all.
It will be light posting over the holiday weekend, so I’ll leave you in good “Muppet” hands. The internet sensation guaranteed to put a smile on your face.
Dolly Parton appeared on the Joy Behar Show last week where she was asked about marriage equality and megachurch pastor Joel Osteen’s recent comment that gays “weren’t God’s best work.” Watch:
While Dolly Parton’s support of the gay community has hardly been secret, she does join other country music stars Reba McEntire and Martina McBride in supporting same-sex marriage.
Another fabulous flash mob, this time from the beautiful land down under. Put on by RockYourBox and led by one of Australia’s most famous drag queens Joyce Maynge, a group of volunteer dancers hit the beach last Saturday to dance their pretty little hearts out. Oh what a great way to start the (if i a bit late) morning, and from my favorite city and beach on earth. Enjoy.
Michael Jackson has died from cardiac arrest at age 50.
Love him or loathe him, Jackson’s talent was undeniable, and his contribution to pop music will likely never be matched. While I was never a huge fan, particularly in later years, I will still mourn his passing. Perhaps his most memorable video, and my favorite, below (excuse the ad at the front, but it was the best quality I could find):
As my partner so eloquently put after hearing the news… today we are “saddened by the passing of an Angel, and the death of a King.”
Good bye Farrah. Goodbye Michael. You will both be missed.
